Kerry Was Right: Dodging Yacht Tax Was Rational

Jeff Jacoby comes to John Kerry's defense....

"No one should be taking pride or pleasure in having railroaded Kerry into forking over $500,000 he likely never owed. I’m no fan of the senator, but he showed good sense in seeking to keep his taxes low. If only he would do the same for the rest of us."

What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Kerry has railroaded taxpayers for years rationalizing it to the pleasure of the people of MA who continue to vote this man in to office.

Imagine if Kerry was honest enough to say the $500,000 tax is absurd. Of course, he'd be drummed out of the Democrat party if he did so.

Which all makes the point about how evil a man he is. He is _CLEARLY_ in charge of his rational, reasoning skills, yet _chooses_ to push irrationality onto everyone else.

It is rational for a "regular joe" consumer; not so good for a public figure who publicly burdens the public with taxes...

To avoid hypocrisy, he should work to lower MA taxes, which he CLEARLY understands as relatively disadvantageous.

Why he had the boat BUILT in NZ versus locally is beyond me (unless the cost savings were significant): see first note above.

Kerry is part of the ruling class.

You work. They decide.

How can a democrat politician who buys a $7M boat and owns several mansions claim to represent the "working man?"

Mr. Kerry is a poseur.

I observed one of his rallies in Arizona back in '04, and he used that thuggish "Benedict Arnolds corporations who send jobs overseas" boilerplate that sent the union thugs in the audience into ecstasy. By his own standard, the yacht outsourcing makes him a Benedict Arnold(traitor.)
